He waka eke noa - We are in this together, we got this!
Playhouse Childcare, est. in 1992, is a not for profit community childcare centre, for children ages 6 months to five years.
Conveniently located behind Parliament with close access to public transport for those who commute and work in Wellington CBD and want their child close by.
We are proud of our long established reputation and relationships with our families and Parliament.
You do not have to work on the Parliamentary Precinct to enrol your child at Playhouse.
We like to say that we work and play in the Beehive’s back yard!
Our centre is managed by a Senior Teacher and Office Administrator and governed by a Parents Committee.
Staff turnover is low with most teachers having over 11 years service, which provides continuity of care especially for our U2’s.
We are licenced for 30 children per day, with a maximum of 10 under twos.
Our ratios are great: 3:10 in our U2’s and 4:20 in our O2’s.
Flexible placements: Full time and part time care options that work for you.
Affordable Fees: As a not for profit we try and keep cost low and offer up to 20hrs of ECE funding from the the government. Our fees go toward running and maintaining our centre.
Children are the heart of the matter here!
Choosing an early childhood centre for your whānau is a big decision. We would love to show you around our centre so please get in touch with us for a visit.
I admire every child who tries to climb our apple tree to pick an apple, who swings and slides to their hearts content, who zooms around the sandpit on a balance bike, who makes a potion in the mud kitchen, or who dresses up as a ballerina, a dinosaur, feeds their baby, offers a cup of tea to a teacher, who watches a butterfly emerge from a chrysalis with big eyes filled with wonder, who can laugh from their belly when they find something funny, who reads books and asks questions and contemplates many things with their teachers and peers – you are our WHY!

It makes me so happy knowing she is in such a caring and supportive environment. We are truly grateful to have found Playhouse"

"I love the amazing photos and in depth stories that are posted on Storypark by the Playhouse team, keeping us all updated with how our tamariki are progressing. It is clear to us that solid relationships are building with other children and teachers every day."
